Your Sins Are Covered

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

          Your Sins Are Covered

Sin is defined as: an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.

Do you know who committed the first or the original sin? It was Adam and Eve when they eat of the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis‬ ‭2:16-17‬ ‭

The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness. But if wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. All their past sins will be forgotten, and they will live because of the righteous things they have done. Ezekiel‬ ‭18:20- 22

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21

Reading from the book, Steps to Christ chapter 3 “Repentance”

Ellen White writes:

How shall a man be just with God? How shall the sinner be made righteous? It is only through Christ that we can be brought into harmony with God, with holiness; but how are we to come to Christ? Many are asking the same question as did the multitude on the Day of Pentecost, when, convicted of sin, they cried out, “What shall we do?” The first word of Peter’s answer was, “Repent.” Acts 2:37-38. At another time, shortly after, he said, “Repent, … and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19. SC 23.1‬ ‭

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John‬ ‭1:9

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭‬ ‭

Conclusion:

“Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live. However, if righteous people turn from their righteous behavior and start doing sinful things and act like other sinners, should they be allowed to live? No, of course not! All their righteous acts will be forgotten, and they will die for their sins.” Ezekiel‬ ‭18:23-24‬ ‭

“Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live! Ezekiel‬ ‭18:30-32‬ ‭

In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Colossians‬ ‭2:11-14‬ ‭

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭
