A Perfect Gift

May 14, 2022 – Ron Green

Every good and perfect gift is from above. (Jame 1:17)

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis‬ ‭1:27-28)

God created the family, and children are a gift from Him. In fact, the Bible says that offspring are a reward from Him! Because of this, God cares about how children are raised and nurtured. Children are definitely good and perfect gifts! But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew‬ ‭19:14‬)

Jesus does not consider babies are born sinners. Instead He used little children to illustrate the innocence and purity of character necessary for those who would be in the Kingdom of God. (Mark 10:14-15)

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (I John‬ ‭3:9‬)

No person is a sinner until he or she violates God’s spiritual law (1 John 3:4). Babies do not have the capability to commit sin. Logic and common-sense dictate that the idea of “original sin” is contrary to the very nature and character of God. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalms‬ ‭139:16‬)

Throughout scripture God’s desire is the redemption of all mankind. It is for the people of God to have fellowship and eternal life with Him. God’s plan for you is the same; it is to prosper and grow spiritually in Christ. His plan to give you a hope and future has never changed. No matter how many questions may be unanswered, we can walk forward confidently with the knowledge that birth represents God bringing new life and revealing his mercy for us. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (III John‬ ‭1:4)
