“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” John 14:1 NLT
From the beginning of time God created a perfect place to live. A place called “The Garden of Eden.” The perfect place where Adam and Eve could live a life of abundance and everlasting joy, with God, the Father, the Creator. When “Jealousy” and “Greed” entered into the garden by the Serpent “Satan,” all that perfect living was changed forever.
Sin has entered into the Garden of Eden and now God’s people have fallen from His perfect plan. It was through lies and deception that Satan tricked mankind and twisted the Word of God. This trickery is still playing out in our world today. The Word of God is used for human pleasure and not for the will of God.
God also has a plan for you and I to overcome sin. It is only through His Son Jesus Christ that our sins are forgiven. Jesus is our atonement for our sins once and for all. Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
As you read from the book of John, John identifies exactly who God is from the beginning. God is our creator, the creator of all things. John also tells us who is the “Light,” that light is Jesus Christ.
In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. John 1:1-8
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Psalms 19:1
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20
Conclusion
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6
It was during the Transfiguration where Peter, James, and John saw Jesus’ appearance was transformed, and His clothes became the brightest white ever. Then suddenly Jesus was speaking with Elijah and Moses. It was then a voice was heard saying, “This is my dearly loved son, listen to Him.” Mark 9:2-8
This was the voice of God heard for a second time in the book of Mark establishing or confirming that Jesus is the Son of God. Remember when Jesus came out of the water as John the Baptist baptized Jesus? The voice of God was heard saying, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” Mark 1:11
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Colossians 3:1
Jesus replied, “My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.” After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them. John 12:35-36
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58
Today, right now, this very moment, you have the opportunity to make a decision that will affect the rest of your days. But the decision is all your’s. Are you ready to make the decision to follow Jesus? Repent of your sins and surrender your life to Jesus, your Lord and Savior. Jesus is our perfect example, “Be Like Jesus.” Yes, it’s that simple.
There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? John 14:2
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
Dear Father God, I pray that these words of encouragement bring light to all that hear them. I encourage each person to seek out the “Light” that has been placed before them since the beginning of time. I pray that my journey will never end as well, in Jesus name, Amen
